I probably shouldn't say this outloud.

After all,
I haven't been able to find time to place my order yet.

But. . .
in the interest of sharing the most gorgeous goodies
with my scrappy friends everywhere,
I'm going to risk it.

Scrapsupply.com has the new Collage Press IN STOCK NOW!
Including this beauty:

Summer_08_p4_2
This is my new all time favorite paper line
and
I
haven't
even
seen
it
in
person
yet.

Yes.
It's that good.
But PLEASE, PLEASE save me some.
Ok?

Seriously Cool Fontage.

I've been doing a lot of searching for fonts lately,
and I came across this set of fonts that I just have to share.
I found them on Peter Saville's website.

I'm sure any of you that have REAL graphic design training
will know who he is by name.
I did not.
But after wandering around his site,
I found that I knew a lot of his work by sight.
And, for lack of a better way to say it. . .
He rocks my world.
And so do his fonts.
You can download them here.
There are 5 pages of them
so don't miss any.
And I love them all.
Happy Fonting.

Disney Mania!

OK, so it isn't tomorrow.
Sorry about that.  Life happened.

For the newsletter at scrapsupply.com this month,
Lisa Damrosch, Wendy and I  decided to focus on Disney.
(by the way, you MUST watch the "Keep Your Chin Up" card
making video on Wendy's blog.  I promise, it has nothing to do
with chins. heehee.)
Anyway, I am a huge Disney fan.  If it weren't so darn expensive,
I would go every year.
Every.
Single.
Year.
Maybe even twice.

We had taken the kiddos for the first
time at the end of last November and,
of course,
my pile of Disney photos was still sitting here haunting me.
SO
I went a little Disney crazy with this newsletter focus.
First I made a planner to use for the NEXT time we go to Disney.
(really, there is no since scrapping the photos you have now
if you don't already have plans for more.  Right?)

And I went a little polka-dot crazy on the inside.
It makes me happy!

Then, here are the layouts I made.
You will notice.  I'm a HUGE fan of the Mickey head.
Finding hidden Mickey's in the parks is one of my favorite things!

For that last one, I had been waiting for the perfect layout to come along to use those
L'il Davis acrylic letters.  I loved the multicolored glitter around the edges.  I thought
they worked well for these photos of the kids "painting" their dessert at Artist Point
restaurant.

And my last is a two-page spread featuring a collection of photos from our day
at Epcot.  I am doing a two-page spread like this for each park, then just
scrapping the other photos that speak to me.  I used my Cricut Expression
to cut the Mickey head into the KI Memories lace paper.

Do you have any recent Disney projects to share?
I would love to see them.
Just post a link in the comments if you would.
I still have a ton of photos and would love some more Disney inspiration.
Have a great weekend!

Done.

I am finished.
Done.
The new letterhead and business cards for my hubby's business are in the
hands of the kind folks at the print shop, who are always so nice, inspite of
my inept designs and clueless formats.

I am not a graphic designer.
Not even close.
I only pretend to be one for dh.
I have time to tweak the designs LOTS until we find something
that is just what he had in his head
and
I work for cheap.
It is sort of a win/win situation.
He wins because of the reasons I just mentioned
and I win because I usually end up figuring out a handful
of things that you can do with Photoshop that I didn't know before.
Sweet.
I'll share when we get them back from the printers.

And speaking of sharing,
this is a layout from my Memory Makers Masters entry.
It features words from a song from one of
my mostest favoritest Christian artist ever,
Ginny Owens.

Idon'twannabeaflameEDITj

The journaling reads:

I wanna be a raging fire.

Words from my favorite song by Ginny Owens.
Recently, I have become aware of just how much I want this,

no. . .I need this to be the way that I live.  Everyday.
I don’t want to just go through the motions.

Be mediocre.  Take things for granted.

No.

I want to live life passionately.

Give my self completely to all that I do.

I wanna be a raging fire.

I have been having some health issues lately.
Nothing terrible, but it is something that I'm likely
going to be dealing with for the rest of my days.
It has been making me feel so blah.
And that is what prompted this layout.
I hate that feeling of blah.  Feeling just bad
enough that you don't want to do anything.
Not even play with the two cutest kids in the world.
That is terrible.
I can't stand it.
It makes me feel like I'm flickering
when I really want to be a raging fire.
I finally get to see a Dr. next Monday.
It took over 2 months to get in,
but he is supposed to
be amazing.
Here's hoping.

This layout was last week's featured layout
at A Faith Perspective.  Thanks Anne!
That means so much to me.
There is so much inspiration on this site.
Please take a few minutes and go look around.

And one last thing. . .
if you find yourself with some spare time on your hands,
my favorite photog, Matt, has a GREAT idea on his blog today.
I am just dying to try it, layer masks and all.
Umm. . .minus the tutu.

Coming tomorrow. . .Disney Mania!!!!

A New Challenge

There is a new challenge at Method Playground this week.
Brenda had a wonderful idea to get our creative juices flowing,
and it was something that I don't think I have ever really
done on a layout.  She recreated the pattern in one of her
favorite patterned papers, turning her creation
into the focal point embellishment of the layout.
I loved the idea and couldn't wait to try my hand at it.
Here's what I came up with using a beautiful KI Memories floral print.

IMG_6603j

I sewed back and forth across the bottom third of the layout, and then
used my sewing lines as the guide for my journaling.   And I have to say,
I think that is my current favorite ribbon.
It is such a brilliant shade of blue.

In other news, I'm trying to design a logo for my dear Hubby's business.
I'm not really a graphic designer, I just pretend to be one at times like this.
I think I've created about 20 options and so far. . .nadda.
Nothing is working.
I'm starting to get frustrated.
Maybe I should just pull out my supplies and scrap it.
Is their anyone out their that would like to design a legal logo for cheap?
I might be in the market.  :o)
