Diapers for Christy.

She has been around the online scrapping community for a
long time and she has been an active part of the local DFW
scrapbook scene for as long as I can remember. 
The thing that has always struck me about Christy is that
she has the most infectious laugh.  And she uses it a LOT! 
I've never seen her when she didn't seem truly happy.

Well many of you know that Christy and her hubby,
Scott, decided to have ONE MORE BABY last summer. 
Here is a picture of her after she had just gotten her
new car.  Janet O was in town and several of us got
together for a little meet up. 
In this photo, she thought she might be preggers.

Little did she know that her family of 5 was about to turn
into a family of 8!  Meet Emily, Molly and Cooper:

The babies have all been home for 5 days. 
Would you just look at the running totals
that she has going there in her last post. 
Dude.
Seriously.
That's like 40 diapers a day.  Minimum.
Woah.
That is a lot of Butt Paste.

And have you priced diapers lately?!?! 
We won't even talk about formula.

You know, it's too bad they can't shove all of those
dirty diapers into a Mr. Fusion and offset the cost
of said diapers by not having to pay these crazy gas
prices.  But alas, that little Honda is no Delorean.

So, this week, I would like to sponsor a little fund raiser.

I would love to raise enough money to cover a couple of
months worth of baby basics for her.  My goal is $1200.00.
I'm not very good with numbers, but my math says they are
going to be spending around $150.00 per week just on the
basic things.

Urban Easter

Last Thursday, we took the kids to
Downtown McKinney in their Easter duds
for a few photos.  We found some great
backgrounds on the square.  I hadn't been
down there in a while, and we were so excited
about some of the cool spots that we came across.
There is a lot of construction going on
right now, but TOTALLY worth working around the
traffic cones.  We so should have just worked them
into a shot!

Oh yeah.  The Canon 5D is in the house. 
Sporting a shiny 85mm 1.2 lens.
I'm a happy girl.

It's just visiting from lensrentals.com for a week or so,
but I'm going to enjoy every.single.minute.
(definitely check them out.  they are one of the few
rental places that allow you to RESERVE ahead of time.
VERY cool.)
This is my birthday present from my beloved.
He's such a keeper.  And speaking of him being
my ScrapDaddy. . .

Last night I was in the bathroom going through
the nightly ritual:
cleanse
tone
moisturize
brush
potty
blah, blah, blah.
Kris was already in bed watching tv.  I had
the bathroom door closed so as not to disturb
his channel surfing.
He starts yelling at me to come out and
"look at this!"
I opened the bathroom door, and he was watching
HSN.  They were demo-ing a Pazzles.
"So I guess this is the Cricut's competition, huh?'

I smiled, thinking to myself,
yes, you are indeed my ScrapDaddy.
Not only did you call me out to find you watching
the Home Shopping Network willingly,
and not only did you know how to use the word
Cricut in a sentence,
but I know that on this particular tv,
you had to go to HSN on purpose.  You didn't see
"scrapbooking" on the menu.  There is no menu.
You were shop-surfing.
ScrapDaddy indeed.

Yes, yesterday was numero 36-o for me.
And it was a wonderful day.
I even took a nap.
(hey, old people need naps, right?)

We celebrated at my favorite restaurant last night.
OK, my favorite non-sushi restaurant. . .
The Cheesecake Factory!!!
This is my second birthday in a row at this
heaven-for-my-taste-buds. 
I think it just might be a new tradition.
I got to go with my three favorite people

 

and, as always, we ordered my favorite
Cheesecake Factory foods.
We started it off with the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes.

This is should get the Appetizer of the Year Award.
Seriously.
You MUST try it.
Then, we followed it up with my absolute favorite
Chicken Madeira.

Asparagus and mashed potatoes!
What's not to like?
And finished it off with a
Coconut Cream Chocolate Cheesecake.
Mmmmmmmmm.

It was a race to blow out that candle.
Noah won.

Now when are we going to learn to just order the
appetizer and the dessert.
Stay tuned tomorrow for my plea of
"Quick!  How can I loose the ten pounds I gained
yesterday today?"

What is this white stuff in my yard?

Snow in Dallas in March?!?!  How crazy is this.
We tried to make the most of the 5 hours that it lasted.

It was that good packing snow that makes for good
snowmen. . .and snowballs.

Keira liked having a new friend that was just her size.

Noah liked snowballs.   

Everyone liked sledding down the hill at the rec center.
And let's just pretend that the pond over there on the
left is just a mirage.  Not really there.  Yes, let's pretend
for a moment that the reason Noah has on his actual coat,
and his own hat that his momma knitted for him in this
photo of them sledding and then doesn't in the other
photos above that were taking after sledding
has nothing to do with that pond.
