And you think I'm kidding. God Bless lake clothes, that is all I'm sayin'.
Layout wardrobe = Li'l Davis die-cut shaped paper, Heidi Grace Rub-ons, Blue Letter stickers and blue paper, and a hunk of Hambly, just to accessorize.
I really like the gradient color on that die-cut paper. Orange changing to Yellow as it goes up the page. SO STINKIN' COOL!
It is finally here. It seems like I have been waiting FOR.EV.ER. But as of today (ok, thanks to iTunes, last night,) this has been added to my music collection:
Ah, sweet Amos. If I were Cathy Zielske, he would be my Neil Finn. That means I am a serious groupie, in um, scrapbooker terms, no?
He is a singer/songwriter type. Sort of the male version of Nora Jones. Here's a little taste for you. . . Truth performed at Abbey Road
And I have to say, he is SO AMAZING live. I just love an artist that is better in person and he has never let me down. He is different every time you see him. Just listen to Truth in the clip above and then listen to the version on the new album. They are so different and I dig that! Kris and I have trekked all around the country to see him. (I told you we are groupies!)
If he is coming anywhere near you, I highly recommend that you call a babysitter, plan a date night, AND GO! Heck, I might even see you there.
ETA: By the way, if you think you have never heard of him, he is the singer/songwriter behind the song on the AT&T commercial. . .you know. . . Sweet Pea Apple of my Eye.
One of the sweetest gifts of modern technology is the way it has effected travel. A simple portable DVD player, and a Dora the Explorer DVD along with the movie, "Ratatouille" and it was smooth sailing on our trip to Sea World. And there is nothing like watching & riding to make you sleepy! 4/2008
And isn't it just the truth! I bet my parents would given anything in the world for this sort of quiet during our annual travels to Branson, MO. Three girls in a station wagon for 6 hours. um. yeah. I remember asking "Are we there yet?" at least a quarter million times myself.
Don't you just love that Li'l Davis die-cut paper? It was really fun playing with adding different colors underneath the paper. And their felt flowers? Yum. The Swirls are from Heidi Grace's printed punchboard Add-Ons. They way they come on 5 sheets of chipboard, organized by cute little tabs is just the best packaging EVER! The letter stickers are Heidi's too. Here's a bit of a close-up:
When I opened my box from the Fiskar's Fairy, (see post below) I was instantly drawn to these beautiful Li'l Davis Designs Secret Garden green, flowery letter stickers. Not just an "aww, aren't these pretty" sort of drawn to, but a "shhh-don't-tell-anyone-about-these-until-I-can-buy-them-all" sort of drawn to.
Yes. They are that pretty.
And then, I threw them into my "to be scrapped" pile on the floor because the pile on my desk is just a wee bit out of control. (Ok, so the floor is outta control too. Doesn't everyone scrap in a 8"x8" square of carpet surrounded by gorgeous stuff that needs to be put away?) I digress. Anyway when they hit the floor, they landed right next to this Making Memories Noteworthy paper and I decided that it was fate.
Oh, and the cute Heidi Grace epoxy sticker heart. . . yeah, it has glitter in it. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but it takes epoxy to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!
I made this Congrats card for my sister. (You can click it to see a larger version.) She got her Master's last month and as usual, i'm just a smidge late with the gift. So, if you see this before, oh say Saturday. . . don't tell her, ok?
I have a new website on my list of frequent stops. allrecipes.com I mean, what is not to like about a site where you can get recipes with TONS of reviews on them by other people who have tried them out already. I love that! We have tried several recipes in the last few weeks, all well reviewed, and all VERY yummy. This is one of our favorites so far:
It is the Too Much Chocolate Cake recipe topped with Satiny Chocolate Glaze. My hubby isn't even much of a cake fan, but he LOVED these. I just took the cake recipe and made cupcakes instead. I seem to be able to control my binge eating with cupcakes, at least a little better anyway. They turned out super-moist and very lucious. I will definitely be making these again.
So what is the second yummy on my list today? Here, let me show you:
This, my friends, is a box of yummy goodness that landed on my doorstep from Fiskars a couple of weeks ago. (Sending a HUGE THANK YOU to May!)
I am so inspired by these new products that I can hardly contain my excitement! I'm really excited to see L'il Davis back in the swing of things. They have always been one of my favorite companies and the new shaped papers are t.d.f! I'm working on several new projects with this stuff right now. I can't wait to share them with you.
Today, we began Operation Sticker Torture at our house. What? You are not familiar with these tactics? Here, let me give you a clue:
Otherwise known as Potty Training Keira, Stage One.
She loves stickers. LOVES THEM! And she totally knows when she needs to go. She tells me every time. So today, I enlisted Big Brother to help me.
Every time he went to the potty, he got a sticker, and she was there. And she would sit and try to earn her own most cherished of sticky, cartoon-clad, paper tid-bits. And oh, how she tried. (see above image) But, unfortunately, the dear princess earned no sticker today. She understands though. And she is ready and willing for a rematch tomorrow.
Noah, on the other hand, went three times a much as normal and was covered in stickers from head to toe by days end. I fear I may have created a potty-monster.
